Vernon Handley was probably as fine an exponent of RVW as any in his day. The 5th Symphony is given a fine musical performance, superbly played and very well recorded.

Flos Campi is really rather special, echoes of Ravel in there. The violist is Christopher Balmer, who is excellent.

The Oboe Concerto, rarely performed, is beautifully done here. Jonathan Small is the soloist.

The Liverpool choir are superb.

The 1987 and 1991 digital stereo recordings made by EMI sound excellent.

This original CD won awards on release, it is extremely fine.

The disc, box and insert are all in very good used condition.

UK-made disc.
