ANTIQUE 1936 ENGLISH BRITANNIA STERLING SILVER TRINKET CASE JEWELRY TOBACCO BOX


Full English Britannia silver hallmarks. Britannia silver is the standard for 958.4/1000 purity of silver, higher than 925 sterling silver. The four hallmarks from left to right are maker's mark for Heming & Co. Ltd, Britannia mark for 95.84% silver, lion head erased for the city of London,  and date letter A for 1936.


3 7/8"  x  3"  x 1 1/4".  Weighs 164.3 grams. Stamped on the bottom is Heming London shop address: HEMING & Co Ltd. 28 CONDIUT ST. LONDON. Comes with the original statement card.


The box has a silver medallion coin at the lid center. The reverse has a crown to commemorate the coronation in May 12, 1937. The obverse is the detailed sculptures of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth heads.


Excellent condition. No dings, dents or monogram. Lid opens and closes smoothly and securely.


Beautiful sterling box in nice size. Useful and displayable.
