This real photo postcard titled 'Holcombe Road, Horley' was mailed from Horley, Surrey, England to Washington, D.C., U.S.A. in 1938 franked by a 1d scarlet KGVI issue of 1937, Scott 236. The stamp is tied to the card by a Holcombe double circle date stamp.

Postcard specs: 'Pettit Series.'

A somewhat morbid note presumably penned by the recipient at the bottom of the original correspondence reads: "Died Feb. 22 - 1941," presumably referring to the postcard's sender.

Small top left and bottom right corner creases (see scans).
