Beautiful rare antique Wedgwood light blue jasperware framed and glass-covered plaque with the delicate and detailed white "Venus in Her Chariot Drawn by Swans (with Attendant Cupids)" (after Charles Le Brun; 1629-90, French artist of the reign of Louis XIV) relief.

The Quality and details of the relief are stunning. We have not examine the plaque out of the frame, but could not spot any defects and/or repairs, aside from the expected some relief crazing. (Original Firing Crack in Venus neck shown in photo)

Frame, also antique, has some insignificant ware, e.g., some wood loses/chips but nothing too serious. Please review the posted pics for more details and let us know if you'd like to see more.

Dimensions: frame: 33.5cm x 24.5cm ~ glass: 23.5cm x 14.5cm

Plaque is marked "WEDGWOOD" (only) as far as is visible. The sign's shape and use of individual letters suggest that the plaque was manufactured in the late 1780s (1787 Catalog, No. 245), which coincides with the data known for the vase with the same relief, 1784-90
