Don't be afraid of pre-owned bedding! You can get vastly better quality bedding pre-owned than you can cheap brand new bedding. Washing machines work wonders (especially if you have an agitator!). If you want to go the extra mile to make your new to you bedding your own, let it soak in the machine for a few hours. You can also add washing soda and/or white vinegar along with your detergent for extreme cleaning power. Then dry them out in the fresh air and sunshine and finish in the dryer. Super fresh and clean! It's actually a misconception that brand new items are clean and pure. Usually they have sat in dirty factories with rodents and critters, and I've heard stories of them even getting damp before they actually make it to stores. Don't underestimate the power of your washing machine, good cleaning products, fresh air, and sunshine!
