oo Trader-BOB's MUSIC offers an F. Jaubert & Cie, Imperial model cornet, made in Austria. Sold in the US by Lyon & Healy in Chicago, who were the sole sale agents in this country. Late 1800's - early 1900's as far as I can research. No serial number(s). On the outer tubes of the three piston valves there are individual numbers, #40, #41, & #42. The coinciding piston valves themselves are numbered the same.  All three are correctly aligned, in their bores, and I can hear changes in the air column, by blowing into the leadpipe, and compressing the piston valves. This horn needs a little work. The back bend on the main tube is dented, see pictures. The three piston valves are freshly oiled, and work fine. Theo small tuning slide from the bottom of the piston valve closest to the player, is free, slides easily. The remaining tuning slides attached to the piston valve, farthest from the player (3 slides), are all stuck. The bell has had some wrinkles, that someone before me worked on. One of the spit valve levers is missing. I do not have a mouthpiece. The silverplate finish on the horn is good, and overall the horn is in above average condition, The hard case, it came to me in looks to have been home made, probably when this horn was new. Read my feedback, buy with confidence!
