VTG HEERENVEEN DELFT TRINKET DISH DUTCH SHOES ATTACHED WINDMILL HOLLAND SOUVENIR

Very old souvenir trinket dish from Heerenveen in Friesland, Netherlands. Tiny chigger atop one shoe. Lots of crazing, which is actually lovely on this little dish. See photos.

Founded in 1551, Heerenveen (“Lords' Peat Bog”) was at first a peat-cutting town. Now industrialized, it is home to businesses dedicated to food-processing, electronics, and the manufacture of buses and bicycles.
