Hand made articulated leather sheath for Elwell Axe

This sheath will fit 4, 41/2, 5, 6 size Elwell felling axe heads (American pattern).

This is an item of exceptional quality. It is hand-cut, hand sewn and hand finished. It is produced using only high quality materials sourced wherever possible from English manufacturers.

The sheath is constructed of 3.5mm vegetable tan leather which is sourced from an English tannery.

It is saddle stitched using 1mm Riza Tiger thread.

The sheath is welted, saddle stitched and reinforced with saddler's copper rivets.

The press stud is solid brass

The leather is dyed using Feibings oil dye and finished with a beeswax leather dressing to my own formula.

This is a sturdy hand crafted item that will give many years of service.
