Tony Evans (1939-1992) was one of Britain's most outstanding post war photographers, who worked with equal success in both the editorial and advertising fields.
His early work was for Vouge, Tatler, The Sunday Times, The Sunday Telegraph and Nova.
His advertising work also began to attract attention and went on to win numerous awards. Some of his best editorial work was on three award winning books, The English Sunrise with Brian Rice, The Flowering of Britain with Richard Mabey and English Cottages with Candida Lycett-Green.
In the 80's his images were used on four different sets of commemorative stamps for The Royal Mail. Latterly his interests lay more in the natural world around him. His last project was a limited edition set of time-lapse prints entitled "Iris Flowering" which are held in private collections worldwide and The Houston Museum of Fine Art.
