  • Beschreibung: An einem grob gezimmerten Tisch in einer Schenke sitzen bzw. stehen zwei Bauern mit Pfeife, Becher und Weinkrug. Links tritt die Wirtin hinzu und liest mit Mühe, aber doch erstaunt aus einem Brief vor. Wundervolle, derbe Genreszene des niederländischen Grafikers Nypoort, passend zu einer Serie ähnlicher Szenen des Künstlers.

  • Description: Two peasants are sitting or standing at a roughly carpentered table in a tavern with a pipe, a cup and a wine jug. The landlady joins them on the left and reads a letter with difficulty, but still in amazement. Wonderful, rough genre scene by the Dutch graphic artist Nypoort, fitting to a series of similar scenes by the artist.
