Presented here is an Exquisite 70s Vintage Swiss
Bulova N8 Gold Plated 17 Jewels Windup Rectangular Dress Watch
This exquisite vintage
Bulova timepiece features a 10.5mm x 23 mm rectangular gold plated case with tapered ends. The
case houses a simple yet elegant gold dial with gold & black stick indices
and matching hands. Dial is signed BULOVA – SWISS. This timepiece is fitted with a unique & stylish
gold
bracelet with a long curved
link and smaller links at both sides. The
bracelet is most likely original to the watch. A Bulova Cal 3AK Swiss 17 Jewel Windup
movement powers
this watch. Movement is marked with a N8 date code which matches the case date
code.
Based on the N8 (1978)
case & movement date code, this watch is ~ 45 years old. Given the age of
the watch, it is in a remarkable
pre-owned vintage condition. It has obviously been well cared for and given the
attention it rightfully deserves. The case has superficial scratches but no
loss to the gold plating. The dial is mostly clean with light dirt accumulation
on the edges that is hidden behind the case (see pic of dial outside the case).
The crystal has light scratches but no cracks. The link bracelet also shows no
loss to its gold filling and has plenty of life left. The movement is very
clean and keeping reasonably good time for a vintage mechanical watch. Service
history is unknown though, and as with all Vintage mechanical watches, regular
service is recommended.
I have

carefully as they are part of the description. Please
note that all pictures are taken on the macro setting to show detail. This
makes even the slightest imperfections, shadows during photography, and specks
of dust appear much more prominent even though they are often not visible
without magnification.
It is not common to find a vintage Swiss made rectangular Bulova in this
remarkable condition. Don’t let this get away. It will make an admirable
addition to your Vintage watch collection. And looks very classy when worn,
even today!
