Published only a few months after the Halifax Explosion on December 6, 1917, in Nova Scotia during WWI. Has survivor testimony, speculation and findings of the accident, and very rare photos of the Halifax Explosion that are seldom published, including photos of the dead. Mix of actual news reporting and dramatic gory details for readers from when the accident was still very recent.

With mail-in coupon for city map and alphabetical list of dead (to 28 February 1918) attached at pp. 112/113. List of still unidentified and unclaimed bodies in the back pages. The first unidentified unclaimed body is described: "No. 184. Female - 10 to 12 years. Long brown hair. Light complexion. One tooth out in front, otherwise good." Ads at rear for: "Post Cards of the Ruins!"
