Vintage/unique Indian Point Nuclear Station "ALARA" Buchanan N.Y. BTS Brass Belt Buckle. New in original package with BTS paper descriptor. Measures 2" across. Had to remove from package to take photos. Front side NM with no/minimal issues from aging. Backside has some aging marks due to being in storage for a long time. Buckle and stab fine shape. Fits small belt size.
ALARA is radiological dose reduction term = "As Low as Reasonably Achievable". Markings on back still clear. The paper descriptor of BTS Group brass maker certificate was slightly torn in storage. I taped it up carefully.
Rare belt buckle from 2000. IP is now shutdown as Entergy Nuclear Inc. bit the bullet and closed it up due to natural gas competition and anti-nuke radicals in NY state, as it was only about 50 miles from NYC.
