these laser diodes for sale are removed from laser arrays, 

and have heatsink compound residue and solder on the pins, these diodes also have the unused pin cut short.

Power with a laser driver or current regulated power source.

5vdc at 800ma is fine but they can be driven harder at your own risk.

Only use laser diode in a heatsink.

i often send these diodes out with the legs connected together by a small blob of solder, 

this protects the diode from static electricity damage.
