MULTIUPLE VARIETIES

Most of these varieties are  self pollinating and require no hand pollination. Most varieties produce a medium to large fruit with a white, red, pink and purple flesh (depends on variety). 

Self fertile varieties: uses it's own pollen.... May need hand pollinating to help set fruit. 

Self pollinating varieties: Sets fruit on with it's pollen. Other than some occasional pruning, these dragon fruit plant varieties require very little maintenance.

Self Sterile varieties: require pollen from another compatible variety to set fruit. these dragon fruit varieties require more maintenance.

Fruit Production:  The amount fruit that is produced from a single plant and how easy or difficult it is to grow depends on the variety.  For example, a variety that is self pollinating or self-fertile will produce more fruit than a self-sterile variety.

MARIA ROSA

Maria Rosa - H. undatus X H. guatemalensis - hybrid Maria Rosa 

This variety will produce many blooms and medium-size fruit with pink flesh. This variety will flower in the summer months and produces nice fruits with a lemony flavor. Maria Rosa is also self-fertile - no cross pollination required. This makes it a great choice for home gardeners.

Bruni - stenopterus X H. undatus - hybrid Bruni Dragon Fruit is a self-sterile variety, hand cross pollination required. This variety will produce many blooms. The flower is a medium-size purple inner petals and pink edges with white tips. The fruit is small-sized with white flesh.

HALEYS COMET

Haleys Comet - H. undatus X H. guatemalensis - hybrid Halleys Comet is a self-pollinating variety. This variety set fruit on its own - no hand pollination required. But it is recommended to cross pollinate with pollen from any Hylocereus polyrhizus for best results. This variety will produce pink fruit with purple flesh.

DARK STAR – H. guatemalensis X H. undatus

Dark Star is a  hybrid variety that comes from Hylocereus guatemalensis and Hylocereus undatus. The Fruit is medium to large and has purple-flesh. 

This varitety is a cross between Rixford Niezel variety, a white-fleshed variety.  This variety will produce pink fruit with purple flesh.

It is a self-sterile and needs pollen from a compatible variety to set fruit.  Cross pollinates with pollen from any Hylocereus polyrhizus for best results.

DAVID BOWE - Hylocereus undatus DAVID BOWE is a self-pollinating variety. No hand pollination required. This variety will produce many blooms and medium-size fruit with white flesh. This variety slow-growing but produces nice fruits with a lemony flavor.

The fruit has a red skin and has small and spines on the bottom that can be easily brushed off. The flesh of the fruit is purple.
