Vtg Retro Ribbed Square Green Uranium Depression Glass Refrigerator Box with Lid.

This very Art Deco fridge box is ribbed and made with Uranium.

It is called Depression Glass as it was manufactured during the 1930’s pre the Depression. Uranium was used extensively pre-war & into the mid to late 1930’s to produce glass items for general sale. (For the average worker to purchase),

Once war began the Gov took all the Uranium mined for use in the war.

The box has 2 chips just on the inside of the lid area (see photos)

One opposite each other. One chip nearest it’s corner is very tiny. Hard to see however I enlarged the photo so it shows. They do now affect the performance of the item. The lid sits nicely in its position & there is no gap.

Otherwise it is in excellent condition commensurate with its age. (over 80 years old, and much loved & used).
