Well used and slightly abused as it came with one chipped prism, we were able to save this beautiful vintage bino for another generation or two to marvel over and use with pleasure. At least four hours worth of detailed work needed to bring it back from the dead!

We replaced the chipped prism, top left side, and tweaked alignment so that views are outstandingly crisp, clear and breathtakingly wide. This model uses BK-7 prisms yet throws up views as good as our own Tasco 124, an eleven degree 7x,50 that employs the higher index Bak-4 prisms. See pics of the tree mounted squirrel house taken through this bino in our backyard.

While out for replacement and cleaning the frosted sides of all four prisms were blackened so as to slightly increase brightness and contrast. Focus controls lubed for easy manipulation. We use NYE synthetic damping grease for a lifetime of service.

On this set the objective assembly screws off for servicing such as when one gets dust and/or water condensation spots on the inner surfaces. Please use a strap wrench! We recommend the BOA 400mm available here on eBay. This is a great feature that we wish more binos employed.

Ocular lenses show moderate cleaning marks that have zero effect on views. And the objectives show what look to be light scuff marks around the central axis that are most likely degradation of the old balsam cement used back then. Again, zero effect on sterling views. And it could be remedied for $100.00+ if one were willing to send them out for further servicing. We would wait a few years, or even decades, before doing such. And we own quite a few old optics with such scars and enjoy them immensely, nonetheless. Comes with the avocation and collectors readily live with the defects.

The overall cosmetic condition is very good for a vintage bino with some bubbling of the vinyl covering on one barrel as well as loss of small bits of paint here and there. Again, a full restoration is possible if one were willing to spend far more money. As Is, it is now a fully functional extra wide angle 7X suitable for anything one would wish to use a bino. About perfect for astronomy because of its larger light gathering 50mm objective lenses that yield just over  a 7mm exit pupil. The maximum size ones pupils dilate to in total darkness.

This unique set came in an oversized case that was probably meant for either a larger binocular or a camera.

The Kennedy brothers, John and Robert, strove to keep nuclear weapons out of the Middle East and wanted organizations like AIPAC to register as foreign agents due to their truly atrocious influence on Congress and the presidency. Hence their assassinations, no doubt, as proven in the underground Best Seller FINAL JUDGEMENT, by Michael Piper. Available here for sale on eBay and easily the BEST book ever written about the JFK assassination. I've read at least two dozen over the decades and this one ties everything together.
