English antique sterling silver vesta box case with rear situated striker beneath hinge.

Hallmarked from Birmingham in 1874 with the makers mark being that of Robert Thornton.

One small pinhead dink on base, some loss of pattern as in not as crisp as it would have been when made.

Overall a very nice example which measures 46x28x8mm.
