For sale is this gorgeous original antique restored cast iron fireplace surround. Reclaimed from a Cheshire period property, it has been professionally cleaned, protective coated and fully polished to bring out its original character.

This is an original, lovely condition fireplace from the late Victorian period, distinguishable by its use of delicate ironwork panels in a fern design over a leaf-lined arch. It is in fully restored condition and carries authentic foundry marks. The attractive detail can be seen in the pictures.

The fireplace surround is made of solid cast iron. During restoration we retained the original period fret bars and added a petite mantle shelf. The final look is beautiful and will really add character to a room.

Fits neatly over an existing opening and has handy angled mounting holes on the outside of the upper body for simple and safe installation.

There is a shallow rear projection on the arch of this fire surround (about 2cm) so it is best fitted over an existing opening of at least 38cm wide x 68cm high to accommodate the rear arch.

Our fireplaces and surrounds are restored and finished using traditional methods and materials. A restored fireplace will bear well concealed signs of the restoration work and will have natural imperfections due to the nature of antique cast iron. This simply adds to the character of the piece in our view.

Payment:

We accept credit/debit card, Paypal and Apple Pay at the ebay checkout. Please contact us if you prefer to pay for your fireplace by bank transfer. Payments should be made within three days of sale. Please note that we are duty bound to report any non-payers to ebay.

Collection and delivery:

We will securely courier the item to most parts of the U.K. but please check with us if you live in a remote location such as the Scottish Highlands or Channel Islands.

For deliveries, we ensure all of our restored fireplaces are protective wrapped and delivered by our trusted courier, who takes great care with each item. The drivers will carry your fireplace into your home and place it in a location of your choice. The cost of delivery is a flat fee of £70 per item, payable at the checkout.

If you are local to us, your item can be collected in person from us in Wilmslow, Cheshire (SK9 postcode). We will assist you where possible in loading.

Installation:

If you are installing a heating appliance in your home, it is your responsibility to ensure that you or your builder follows building regulations and, where applicable, complies with HETAS and GAS SAFE regulations in the UK. Cast Iron Fireplace Restorations Ltd cannot accept responsibility for the performance or suitability of an individual fireplace, which should be assessed prior to installation by a suitably qualified installer.

If your fireplace is purely for decorative purposes, the HETAS and GAS SAFE regulations do not apply.

Returns and cancellation policy:

As most of our items are very old they are sold as described. We endeavour to give a genuine and honest description for every item to avoid any misunderstandings or issues.

If you are not completely happy with the item we will happily cancel the sale without fuss and provide a refund in accordance with Consumer Contract Regulations. You must return the goods to us within 14 days of receipt and they must be returned in exactly the same condition as when purchased.
