A stencil duplicator, also known as a mimeograph or mimeo, is a machine that uses a stencil to duplicate information. The stencil is a coated fiber sheet that has a wax coating. To duplicate information, you type the text or drawing to be reproduced on the stencil using a typewriter or steel stylus. The keys cut the coating on the stencil and expose the fiber base, allowing ink to pass through.
