  • Ancient bronze vessels were used for the purpose of ancestor veneration and worship in Chinese culture.
  • Having the cast decoration of traditional Chinese archaic style with stylised eyes and mask imagery.
  • A feature that stands out is the design of this lamp base which imitates ancient Chinese ritual wine or food vessels, vases or "Fanglei", from the archaic Chinese bronze age 1650BC.
  • Circa 1920 early 20th century Republic of China Dynasty 1912-1949.
