The edge is clean and straight, and the blade opens and closes properly. There is a little tarnish as seen, but nowhere near the edge. The blade is very sharp, but needs a further honing to be shave ready. As you can see in the photos, this one really is the legendary tamahagane, which of course is made from Japanese iron sand.
This razor came from the shop of a retired barber.
