A FREEMASON AND KNIGHT TEMPLAR HIMSELF, CHARLES G. BRAXMAR WAS A MASTER JEWELER WHO CRAFTED SWORDS FOR ONLY A RELATIVE BRIEF PERIOD. A SOMEWHAT ECCENTRIC INDIVIDUAL, BRAXMAR KEPT THE "X" SILENT WHEN PRONOUNCING HIS NAME. FOR A SHORT TIME HE STYLIZED THE SPELLING TO READ AS "BRAEMAR". THIS BIZARRE ECCENTRICITY CAUSED SUBSEQUENT HISTORIANS TO MAKE INCORRECT ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT THE FIRM, WHICH IN REALITY WAS ALWAYS CORRECTLY NAMED "BRAXMAR". CHARLES G. BRAXMAR DIED IN 1914 AS A RESULT OF AN EXPLOSION IN HIS HARLEM RESIDENCE. HE SMELLED A GAS LEAK AND LIT A MATCH AND THAT WAS THAT! THE COMPANY CONTINUED TO EXIST FOR MANY YEARS THEREAFTER. CHANGING HANDS QUITE A FEW TIMES.

This is an Absolutely Stunning and most Beautiful Historic Antique 1901 Super-Ornate Enamel and Golden Masonic Two-Tier Holy Royal Arch Symbolic Jewel. from the 50th Anniversary of Orient Chapter in Brooklyn, New York. The bottom is designed to resemble a banner with a gorgeous Three-Dimensional Coat-of Arms in center. The top tier features a classic Keystone, It glistens! It shines and glows. The Colors are Spectacular. Hard to find something more gorgeous. There is magnificent detailing throughout. Our photos do not do this gem justice. It is in very good vintage condition. The jewel measures approximately 3 inches long. A VERY RARE & MOST SPECTACULAR ORNATE ENAMEL & GOLDEN HISTORIC ANTIQUE 1901 SYMBOLIC ROYAL ARCH JEWEL FROM BROOKLYN, NEW YORK! THE VERY FINEST IN ENAMEL ARTISTRY! HOLY ROYAL ARCH JEWELRY AT ITS VERY BEST! There is gold color here, but not being jewelers, we do not know if there is any actual gold here or if it is a lovely gold colored metal of one type. Besides, if it were marked for gold, our price would be substantially higher that what we are asking for this gem. Made by the illustrious New York City based "Charles G. Braxmar" (1850-1914), one of the really great historical American Masonic Jewelers and Sword makers. Braxmar swords and jewelry equaled and sometimes even surpassed the works of the great swordmakers (who themselves also ventured into jewelry) such as “The Ames Sword Company”, “M. C. Lilley & Co”, “The Pettibone Bros” and “William Horstmann of Philadelphia”.
