In 'Miracle on Evergreen Terrace' (1997) Bart lies about the burning down of the family's Christmas tree. 'Grift of the Magi' (1999) sees Bart wheelchair-bound and the school having to raise money to build a ramp. Whilst in 'She of Little Faith' (2001) father and son Simpson accidentally burn down the local church and Lisa becomes a Buddhist when the church sells advertising space in a bid to raise money for the re-build. In 'Mayored to the Mob', Homer becomes Mayor Quimby's personal bodyguard after saving him from rioting sci-fi fans. 'Dog of Death' sees Santa's Little Helper set to expire unless the Simpsons can find the money for an expensive, life-saving operation. In 'The Secret War of Lisa Simpson', Lisa attempts to enrol at Rommelwood Military Academy after Bart is sent there to be disciplined.
