An eye-catching and decorative statue!
in very good condition
1930's Art Deco figural group by the Belgian artist Abel Georges Van De
Voorde. The group depicts a young girl with a dog and bird, made from
cold painted spelter on a black marble base. Lovely condition and nice
size for display. Totally authentic with signature both sides of the
sculpture + stamp of the founder France BRIG Paris.
About the Artist
Abel
Georges van de Voorde, famous Belgian sculptor born in 1878 in Courtai
and died in 1964 in Brussels. He was the student of Constant Devresse
and Julien Dillens. Aida Victor Rousseau and worked in his workshop for
seven years. He later became professor and director of the Academy of
Decorative Arts in Nolenbeck - won the second Godecharle Prize in 1905
and participated in many International Fairs - making many famous
monuments and sculptures.
