  • Inscription: At the lower part signed in the printing plate: "W. Hensel, pinxt. | H. Bourne, sculpt.". Lower middle inscribed in the printing plate: "MIRIAM.".

  • Description: The skilfully engraved portrait depicts a group of figures in historical garments. The prophetess Miriam appears in the centre with a tambourine, flanked by women playing music; one of them is playing the lyre. In the background, male figures stand with suggestive gestures over a landscape with water on the horizon. The composition is characterised by classical beauty.
