  • Beschreibung: Freda Sophie Karoline Marie von Savigny, geborene Gräfin von Arnim (1831 Boitzenburg - 1905) ist uns als Gattin des preußischen Gesandten und Mitbegründers der Zentrumspartei, Karl Friedrich von Savigny (1814-1875) bekannt. Als solche begleitete sie Ihren Mann auf diplomatische Reisen und musste selbst zahlreiche repräsentative Pflichten übernehmen und an gesellschaftlichen Anlässen teilnehmen. Die Froschperspektive taucht in mehreren Zeichnungen der Künstlerin Marie von Savigny auf und wird von dieser besonders zur monumentalen Überhöhung von Felsmassiven oder alten Befestigungen eingesetzt. Die hier gezeigte Ruine der Burg Hornberg bei Hornberg ragt mit ihrem erhaltenen Bergfried über einem steilen Felsmassiv auf. Eindrucksvoll hebt sich die Silhouette gegen den hellen Himmel ab. Ganzseitig wurde die Zeichnung mit einem hellen Schleier gehöht, durch den die Wirkung gleissenden Sonnenlichtes an einem Sommertag erzielt wird. Links des alten Gemäuers ist ein neues Bauwerk zu sehen, in dem ein Gebäude der Brauerei zu vermuten ist, die das Gelände im Jahre 1841 erwarb und nutzte.

  • Description: Freda Sophie Karoline Marie von Savigny, née Countess von Arnim (1831 Boitzenburg - 1905) is known to us as the wife of the Prussian envoy and co-founder of the Centre Party, Karl Friedrich von Savigny (1814-1875). As such, she accompanied her husband on diplomatic trips and had to take on numerous representative duties and attend social occasions herself. The frog perspective appears in several drawings by the artist Marie von Savigny and is used by her especially for the monumental elevation of rock massifs or old fortifications. The ruins of Hornberg Castle near Hornberg shown here tower with their preserved keep above a steep rock massif. The silhouette stands out impressively against the bright sky. On the whole side, the drawing has been heightened with a light veil to create the effect of glistening sunlight on a summer's day. To the left of the old building, a new structure can be seen, which is presumably a building of the brewery that acquired and used the site in 1841.
