  • Description: Inscribed below the image with title and six lines in Latin. Portrait of the Swiss reformer Pierre Viret (1511 Orbe-1571 Orthez), who worked in Geneva, Lausanne and France; in oval. Apart from the interpretation of the Bible, he was particularly concerned with questions of (also political) ethics.
