This a very nice example of a very rare officers badge on original cord boss to the 4th Gurkha Rifles worn from 1924 onwards

This particular variant is not shown in the Gurkha Museum's book on the insignia - making it a very rare item.  This type of badge is illustrated as a an officers collar badge worn around 1924 onwards - but no boss badge is known.

In the book there are 9 versions of a POW feathers boss badge - and 3 boss badges where different versions of the Regimental crest have been used - I believe this is 4th unrecorded variant and with the slightly splayed POW feathers I believe its 1920's rather that later.

It has wire fixings

It was worn on both the field caps and forage caps.
