1969 Fender Mustang in the iconic Competition Burgundy finish often referred to as Competition Blue. These early examples from the late 60’s feature a subtle purple edge. Guitar is in excellent condition, and aside from the weather checking features no buckle rash, deep scratches or major dings. The colour is also almost unfaded. All original condition and features the OHSC, albeit the central latch is broken. The frets have little wear and are high and untouched. The action is low and buzz free. The guitar plays like butter and flawlessly.

This is identical to the Mustang (serial 279651 last picture) that Kurt Cobain played in Nirvana’s Smell Like Teen Spirit video. It also happened to be his favourite guitar and was unmodified. That guitar sold last year at Julien’s for $4.5 million.
