This new Mabuchi/Rivarossi motor # R28872 fits the very " latest edition " of the BIG BOY locomotive made by Rivarossi that have the newer, stronger, more reliable Mabuchi motor in them.

This new Mabuchi motor comes in it's original Rivarossi box, which includes the Mabuchi motor, two brass 7 tooth  worm gears, three bearing blocks, two spacers, two copper electrical connection clips, and the drive shaft coupling. Everything needed to replace the top drive mechanism of your latest edition Rivarossi Big Boy locomotive.

This new direct replacement Mabuchi motor comes in the original Rivarossi/Mabuchi box, motor has been lubed, tested with a 9 volt battery, runs great.

NOTE:  Please check the worm gear teeth of your latest edition Big Boy motor, it will have a 5 tooth or 7 tooth brass worm gear on the motor shaft. This is a 7 tooth worm gear application, and is the wrong brass worm gear for you if your Big Boy has a 5 tooth worm gear. You would need to changer the two compound gears to match the 7 tooth worm gears.
