Offered for your consideration is a pair of generic 8” poly cone woofers, manufactured c.1998. I found these well-made mid/bass drivers in a pair of vintage U.S.-made speakers as replacements for the originals that likely had decayed foam, etc.  They have no identifying markings whatsoever.

Please take a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if these capable 8” woofers are correct for your needs.

This pair of 8” woofers is in clean, excellent condition. The poly cones and fabric voice coil dustcaps are both flawless, as pictured. Plus, the black-enameled steel baskets have no dents or finish loss, but the bonehead original owner scratched something resembling a small X for positive next to a terminal on both woofers. Of course, they got it wrong. So, I placed red decals by actual positive based on mistrust followed by an infallible battery test.

Also, the suspension is foam, but it’s the modern, treated polyether type showing no wear or attrition; it’s effectively permanent. And, the dual +/- terminals measure the standard .205”, are correctly marked for polarity now, and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, these 8” mid/bass drivers are in great shape.

Most importantly, they’ve been fully tested and sound very strong and clear with fast, detailed mid frequencies and good bass response for the platform type. Plus, I tested their DC resistance at a perfectly-matched 3.5Ω, consistent with a 4 ohm nominal driver rating. Lastly, the baskets measure 8¼” in diameter, they stand 3¼” tall (not incl. surround roll), and the mount holes are spaced 5⅝” adjacent / 7⅞” on the diagonal apart, c-t-c.

So, as pictured and described, this pair of 8” replacement woofers is offered at a reasonable price.
