This is a used Canon DM-XL1A 3CCD Digital Camcorder/Video Camera. This unit is being sold as-is for parts as it does not function 100% properly and has physical defects. Please read full description!
The viewfinder assembly on the unit is cracked, see photos. The viewfinder video screen does work properly when powered on. It seems this assembly can be removed from the camera as it plugs into the front of the body and can be disconnected.
The unit was power-tested with a DC power adapter (battery or power supply not included). It powers on and when a lens is present (no lens included) it properly passes video to the viewfinder screen. There is a red blinking "cassette" on the display, a tape was placed in the unit although it's not being recognized so likely an issue with the tape loading mechanism. The CR2032 backup battery in the unit was dead and removed. Microphone appears to pick-up audio as I can see the meters increase when the unit is on, the windscreen is a bit malformed due to storage in a case for an extended period of time.
The controls for the lens on the unit appeared to work fine (zoom in/out, focus) although without the tape working I could not test recording or playback controls.
No accessories are included, only the camera body with the attached viewfinder/microphone. I have listed other parts for the unit in other listings if you are looking for something specifically.
