About the company KDE - Kunstgewerbeliche Drechslerei Ellmann

A small area on the edge of Germany, between Vogtland and Saxon Switzerland. Attractive landscapes, cultural highlights, friendly people and, last but not least, the Erzgebirge craft tradition make it interesting and attractive for visitors. Herbert Ellmann In the middle of the Ore Mountains, known as Christmasland, lies the town of Olbernhau, the town of the seven valleys. The seven points on our angels' wings symbolize these seven valleys. The Ellmann company, founded in 1928 by Herbert Ellmann, has been based here since 1934. Old logo: In 1937, William Klemm and Herbert Ellmann founded the company Klemm & Ellmann (with the logo K & E in the candle holder) and introduced lacquer painting with spirit varnishes in the Olbernhau area. During this period, various templates and samples of our current products were created. Herbert Ellmann completed his master's examination for wood turning in 1955. New logo: When Wolfgang Ellmann took over the company in 1979, it continued under the name Kunstwerbeliche Drechslerei Ellmann (with the logo E in the candlestick). Since then, the product range has been constantly supplemented, expanded and adapted to customer requirements. Wolfgang Ellmann and his son Jens The company, which was taken over by Jens Ellmann in 2003, currently runs approx. 900 items in the range and, in addition to Erzgebirge wooden art products, also produces room and table decoration products and technical wooden goods such as furniture knobs, balls, columns and various turned parts. Jens Ellmann successfully completed his master's training in 1990 and is continuing the historic, traditional products of his predecessors. The company's lacquer painting has been preserved to this day and is one of the quality features. Your company feels committed to the tradition of Erzgebirge wood art. With their names they guarantee original Erzgebirge handicraft. Your items, manufactured with the greatest care, should encourage you to collect and love, decorate your home and accompany you through the festive cycle of the seasons. Whether angel musicians, flower children, music boxes and much more, let yourself be enchanted by the fascination of the small, colorful and natural wooden figures. Maybe you too will soon be one of the collectors and lovers around the world.
