This vibrant huile sur toile, oil on canvas, was sourced on its original stretcher from a reputable dealer in Paris. Unframed, it has been in our personal collection for a number of years.
The emotive subject matter is a reflection of a typical sun-baked, pantiled Tuscan settlement in the River Arno, the most important river in central Italy after the Tiber. Interestingly, there is a tall chimney stack behind the settlement, quite possibly a brickworks?
This oil on canvas has been indistinctly signed lower right, possibly Sitia? But your guess is as good as ours...
The canvas on stretcher was originally sourced from F.lli Rigacci on Via dei Servi, the celebrated art supplier In between the Galleria dell'Accademia and the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Florence. IMAGES 6 & 7.
