Pair of antique French Country fruitwood armoire doors, architectural salvage sourced from Cognac in the Dordogne.

Recently sourced from a reputable French dealer based in Cognac in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of western France, a beautiful pair of reclaimed French armoire doors.

These fruitwood doors display a particularly attractive patina having been painted in a distressed dark blue grey and vanilla colour palette at some point, and more recently waxed. They retain original brass shield shaped keyhole covers, one keyhole faux. Original lock and hinges have been removed.

Antique armoire doors of this genre make a great decorative statement when strategically positioned in contemporary interiors, as witnessed last summer in the Michelin acclaimed L'Avant Port restaurant in Saint-Martin-de-Ré on Île de Ré. LAST IMAGE. Equally, they make a great bed headboard.

Please look carefully at the images as they form part of the description.
