The Seller is the Original Owner and received this CD from the label at the time of its release.

From roughly 1988-1993, a CD came in what was called a long box, 6” x 12”, cardboard and hollow. The long box was a throwaway vessel that carried the smaller passenger of the jewel box-encased CD. The long box was a transitional design, fashioned so that two of them could stand up, side by side, in the same bins that once held vinyl records (12” x 12”).

This CD with jewel box is still sealed in its original cardboard long box and shrink wrap.  The cardboard is somewhat wavy due to the stiffener inside and shrink wrap. There are no holes, sawcuts, or other manufacturer markings.  Please zoom in on the provided photos to see the overall condition of this item and for the song listing.

(Wikipedia Excerpts)  Blues Traveler is an American rock band that formed in Princeton, New Jersey in 1987. They are known for their extensive use of segues in live performances and were considered a key part of the re-emerging jam band scene of the 1990s. 1992, the group founded the H.O.R.D.E. festival as an alternative to others such as Lollapalooza, along with other bands such as Phish and Spin Doctors.

Blues Traveler released their self-titled debut album in 1990.  Travelers & Thieves (for sale in this listing) is Blues Traveler's second album, released on A&M Records in 1991. On iTunes the album is listed only as Travelers due to the full name being split across two drawings.  On this long box version "Travelers" appears on the front cover and "Thieves" is on the back cover.  The full title "Travelers & Thieves" appears on all four edges/spines followed by the catalog number.

The liner notes include a poem titled "Of Travelers & Thieves," written by Jonathan Sheehan, brother of bassist Bobby Sheehan.  Guest performers on the album include Gregg Allman (Hammond B3 and vocals on "Mountain Cry") and Chris Barron (backing vocals on "All in the Groove").

Around this time, the mainstream national audience was exposed to Blues Traveler by television host David Letterman, who has introduced them as "his favorite band". The band has since made more appearances on The Late Show than any musical artist. Letterman's band leader Paul Shaffer has played on a number of Blues Traveler recordings.

The Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired a collection of 2500+ albums from that era, which is now being sold on Ebay. Most are promotional and collectible LPs and CDs which have never (or seldom) been played. Many are white label promos, first pressings, and often factory sealed. The collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983, 40 years!  Please check back occasionally to see my new listings.

Insurance does not cover missing packages after they have been delivered to the buyer's address, only damage or loss during shipping. Warping could accur if vinyl records are exposed to heat and direct sunlight, so please make adequate arrangements to safely receive your packages.  If Buyer prefers a faster shipping service, please contact the Seller before completing the transaction to discuss options such as Priority Mail. Per USPS, Priority Mail packages are delivered in 1-3 days.
