SCARCE GRADE, WITH ONLY ONE GRADED AT THIS LEVEL, AND ONE HIGHER AT NGC. AND NONE GRADED ABOVE AN MS64 AT PCGS. Beautiful example and with a superb strike. The middle year of a three-year type and the most desirable date of the three. Mostly this type is seen with incomplete strikes and considerable wear. An almost universally low-grade type, fully evidenced by the fact that the next highest example in the NGC census is a mere AU55 by comparison. Practically unmarked, close inspection of the obverse and reverse alike reveals fine flow lines throughout. KM-C-40. See images.
