The lower most lip of the stand does not cover up the side of your car, only enough to hold the car.

Disclaimer

Testing was conducted on many HO size cars and trucks.

Most cars will easily be held by the stand, no problem.

Have not encountered an HO car I wanted to display which could not be used with this display stand.
