Analysis of Pesticides in High Protein Vegetable Food

by Gustavo Mizutani, José Oscar Vega Bustillos

Beans together with rice are part of the basic diet of the Brazilian population, as they are rich in proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, fibers and amino acids, so we can compare the amount of proteins that these foods have with meat. With this, the use of pesticides in agriculture becomes increasing as there is an increase in consumption by the population. An analytical method was developed to quantitatively characterize residues of the fungicide pesticides, flutriafol, procymidone, tebuconazole, present in beans, using the analytical technique of gas chromatography coupled to a TANDEM mass spectrometer, in the types of beans, Phaseolus vulgaris L, of the type white, black, carioca and azuki, Vigna angularis, QuEChERS extraction and solid-liquid extraction at low temperature, using the diuron standard to validate the extraction, The methodology was able to reach below the maximum limit for procymidone of 0.5 mg kg-1 and flutriafol and tebuconazole 0.1 mg kg-1.
