What is a Dovetail Mount?

A Dovetail Mount is used to attach accessories to your Telescope. Those include a Red Dot Finder Scope, additional cameras, or anything that is lightweight with a Dovetail/Vixen Style Mount.

To use, simply remove the tape strip covers from the bottom of the Dovetail Mount, then press onto your telescope. Now install your accessory onto the Dovetail Mount and your set!

We tested our mount on both a Celestron 8SE as well as a Celestron 11" Edge HD telescope, however it should fit both the Nexstar 9.25" and 14" Celestron Telescopes as well.  And for non Celestron Telescopes, we believe it should fit anything 8" to 14".

The included Command Strip style tape strips are rated to 5 lbs, however be sure you test the hold and ensure the tape is attached well before using your accessories.  It is your responsibility to ensure the tape is firmly attached.

If you ever need to remove or relocate your Mount, simply pull on the strip tabs and they will stretch and slowly get pulled away from the telescope and mount leaving you with just the mount and telescope separated.  You can purchase other command strip type tape from any department/hardware store, or even install velcro if you choose to.  The options are endless.

Our Dovetail Mount is Custom 3D designed and printed using ABS. ABS is known to be very strong and resilient to temperature changes. ABS is also used in other applications including Toy Building Bricks, Sports Equipment and Automotive components

This does not include the telescope. This only includes the Dovetail Mount and 2 Tape Strips
