Music Express Magazine Nirvana, Rick Rubin, Ice Cube (March 1992)
In the March 1992 issue of Music Express Magazine, readers were treated to a compelling exploration of Nirvana's meteoric rise to fame in an article titled "Too Legit To Quit." This piece delved into the band's journey from relative obscurity to dethroning pop icon Michael Jackson from the top of the charts, a feat that left even the most seasoned industry insiders astonished. However, beneath the surface of their newfound success lurked questions about how Nirvana would navigate the treacherous waters of fame without succumbing to its pitfalls. The article pondered whether the band could maintain their authenticity and anti-mainstream punk aesthetic while being squarely in the mainstream spotlight.
Meanwhile, the magazine also featured an insightful look at two influential figures in the music industry: music producer Rick Rubin and rapper Ice Cube. Rubin, known for his groundbreaking work with a diverse array of artists, and Ice Cube, a pivotal figure in the burgeoning hip-hop scene, were both subjects of discussion in this issue. Their contributions to music and their impact on the cultural landscape were explored, offering readers a glimpse into the creative minds shaping the sounds of the era.
Music Express Magazine, a Canadian publication distributed through A&A Music & Entertainment stores across the country, provided a platform for readers to discover and engage with up-and-coming mainstream artists. Through its articles and features, the magazine offered a comprehensive view of the evolving music scene, capturing the essence of the time and reflecting the cultural currents that shaped it.

5/10: Excellent. Exactly what you’d think: Average. A copy of a magazine that’s seen it’s time on the coffee table but has not fallen prey to any mishaps. Maybe the very beginning of a split at the very top or bottom of the spine (and I’m talking 1/8″ or less, more of a fray than a split). Some light age toning to the inside pages. Sometimes there will be a nice issue with a thumbprint or blurred printing on the covers. Still very nice without any damage that jumps out at you but appears on closer inspection.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a noticeable ink/pen mark on the top right-hand corner of the cover. Rest assured, we've made note of this blemish, captured it in pictures, and adjusted the pricing accordingly to reflect this.
