THIS AUCTION IS FOR TWO ( 2 ) ATLAS/KATO #4525, BESSEMER & LAKE ERIE CAB # 451 & 453 ( B&LE ) EMD SD-9 Locomotive. Custom Painted.  MADE BY KATO.      IN GOOD TO EXCELLENT CONDITION. N SCALE. ( lightly used )

These locomotive's was professionally custom painted in the Bessemer & Lake Erie paint scheme ( not by me ) and feature very clean sharp paint, with no chips or blemishes.

These locomotive's features the very reliable Kato drive, with 12 wheel drive, all metal wheels, Micro-Trains operating knuckle couplers, Non Dynamatic Braking, Directional lighting, with all air horns, handrails and steps in place and in excellent condition.

These locomotive's is in excellent to new condition, with very little wheel ware, as can be seen by the close up picture of the drive wheels.

These locomotive's have the power and weight to pull many cars with ease, and come in their Kato clear plastic box with insert, which is excellent condition also.

In real life the SD-7/9 locomotive was the workhorse of the Bessemer & Lake Erie railroad, back in the 60's, 70's & 80's, with five or six SD-7/9 locomotives coupled together pulling 100+ cars of iron ore or coal from the seaport at Erie to the steel mills around Pittsburgh. I always was amaized at the power of these SD-7/9 locomotives as I seen them go by daily pulling their cars loaded with iron ore or coal to Pittsburgh. This is also true with the Kato made SD-7/9 locomotive in N scale as they have the power and traction to pull many, many cars, and the SD-7/9 is the most reliable locomotive that Kato ever made ( in my opinion ) as they just keep running and running with no problems what so ever. They really look great coupled together as a team of SD-9's working together pulling their freight cars.
