Description

This is a superb and very rarely seen ball footed cup and saucer from Davenport in their classic 'Two temples' pattern dating to between 1870 and 1886.

The cup and saucer are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs or crazing. There are a couple of areas of very slight discolouration on the inside of the tea bowl, only mentioned for 100% accuracy.   The gilding is fresh and bright and almost fully intact, please see detailed photos to appreciate the wonderful condition.

They both bear the Davenport mark dating them to 1875-81.  The saucer additionally has the word 'Davenport' impressed. 

The saucer has a diameter of just under 5 inches (12.5cm) and the cup's rim has a diameter of just over 3 inches (8cm).
