PIPAL LEAF PAINTING

Very pretty painting made on a dried pipal leaf (or pagoda fig).

The Pipal is also called the Bodhi tree, it belongs to the Ficus genus.

It is a sacred tree for Buddhists.

The most famous Bodhi tree is located about 100 km from Patna in the Indian state of Bihar.

It is under this magnificent tree that Buddha reached Bodhi or supreme knowledge.

This painting was created by painters.

To reveal the veins, these leaves are soaked for more than 15 days.

Chlorophyll deteriorates over time; then each leaf is cleaned, crushed, rinsed and dried flat.

The leaves are painted one by one, the colors dry separately.

You can also use this painting as a greeting card, a thank you card or simply to put it under glass because it is really superb...
