Vintage Tootal black quality tie: This is from the 50s Tootal range when the colour denoted the quality of the tie (see picture 2 showing an original 1953 advert for the range).

The Black quality featured a lined finish.

It is made of rayon, a semi-synthetic fibre which became widespread in the 1930s and a popular choice for Tootal ties, cravats, and scarves. It was used up to the 1960s when it was replaced by polyester.

Features a geometric diamond and squares patterned finish in blue and yellow colours on a dark purple background. It is lined to the main wide end in off-white.

Tootal Label to back states 'Tootal tie, black quality, all rayon, made in England, wash as wool'.

It measures approx 53" in length, 2 3/8" at the widest end

The tie is in good clean  condition, ends and label are excellent.  It is fresh, clean, and ready to wear upon receipt

N.b there are some nibbles to edge

and a few holes to fabric (do not go through) on thin end of tie see pics 10-12.
