Welcome to the sale of our 1964 Renault Caravelle convertible.  We have owned this car for a few years but have never really used it.  It was restored by a previous owner several years ago and to his credit, no rust has appeared since, except for one small bubbling area near the front edge of the bootlid opening, so he must have been thorough. The car was originally supplied as a fixed head coupe and was converted to a convertible at the time of restoration, because of this, the original floorpan is in excellent rust-free condition. The sills have been rebuilt.  During our ownership, the engine has been rebuilt with new pistons, wet liners, big end and main bearings, we added an oil filter and fitted a new fuel pump and some other parts. An electric cooling fan was fitted and some gauges - oil pressure, voltmeter and water temperature. Any original parts that were removed will be included with the car, including the original dash bolster, as I made a new one to hold the gauges. The interior appears to be original, except the carpets.
This is a lovely little car, very pleasant to drive, rare and unusual - I believe that there are only around 30 examples in the UK, this one is an original right-hand-drive. It could be used as is, or further improved. Great summer motoring!
