Description: Small oblong ticket, 2 x 6 in., printed in orange, text enclosed in a decorative border. A very good example. "This Ticket will entitle the possessor to such prize as shall be drawn to its number, in the First Lottery for the PROMOTION OF MEDICAL SCIENCE, agreeably to an act of the Legislature of this State, passed March 12, 1810. Subject to a deduction of 15 per cent." Signed in ink by Jno. (?) McLean, whose signature was struck through. Ink note "Paid" across the face of the ticket. Verso, in ink, says "withdrawn the 28th day of Drawing - For Judah & Lazarus." The names of Morris Oakley, John Adams, Isaac Woods, and L. Hart are also present on the verso. An ink note besde the names of Oakley, Adams, and Woods reads, perhaps "one share (?) each."
