I am very happy to announce the I will be listing cards from my 1959 set. Most of these cards are nearly perfect, some with a corner rub but almost all have the typical Topps manufacturing bugs (like centering) that a collector cannot avoid.

Generally I will be pricing them somewhat in line with a PSA/BGS 6-7. Many involve HOF'rs; others are fan favorites like Ellie Howard or Rocco Colavito.

BOB HALE for the Orioles: This really fine card values at a PSA 6 of $10-$15. Your price here is $10.

As a pinch hitter for the Yankees who started one game at first base (on September 21), Hale went 2-for-13 and played his final MLB game on October 1, the game in which Roger Maris set his single-season home run mark. Hale singled in his last at bat off Tracy Stallard of the Boston Red Sox, the hurler who surrendered Maris' blow.

Hale did not appear in the 1961 World Series, won by New York in five games, and played 1962 at Triple-A Richmond before leaving the game. In 376 MLB games played, Hale registered 171 hits, with 29 doubles, two triples and two homers. He batted .273 lifetime with 89 runs batted in.

So, be sure to review the photographs for dings and dents because I do not accept returns. If you are shopping for 1959, 1962, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1979, 1981, 1982, or 1982 Topps cards to complete a set, give me a shout or check out my eBay shop. I have books of these cards, and from 1973 on they are darn good quality.

Enjoy! And thanks for shopping around. *** Please follow my listings and subscribe for advance notice. ***
