Offered for sale is a beautiful antique opalescent glass vase with gold goofus decoration.  It was made by Jefferson Glass of Steubenville, OH, U.S.A. The pattern is called AURORA. The raised design appears on the outer surface of the glass; the inside surface is smooth, allowing the pattern to show through. The vase itself is clear glass, extending into a white opalescence at the outer edge. The Aurora pattern was introduced in 1903.

The vase stands 6 1/4 inches (15.9cm) tall to top of the points on the rim, and measures 3 1/2 inches wide across the rim. It is shown with a U.S. quarter in the third picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. This is a lovely antique opalescent vase for your collection!

The vase is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs. The goofus decorations are intact with minimal wear.  Keep in mind that goofus decorations are cold painted (not fired-on or molded into the glass) so they are very fragile.  They are easily scratched, and should be hand washed very gently with mild, non-abrasive soap.
